Trailside Harvest Health Physical Therapy

Trailside Harvest Health, LLC is a small business that specializes in holistic physical therapy. The business was started in January 2011 for the purpose of maintaining high quality complementary health care at a relaxed pace in this busy rushed world. We specialize in care for people with chronic conditions that were not resolved in the standard health care settings. Specifically, women with chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, chronic lyme disease and other musculoskeletal or neurological conditions may receive three weeks of private pay physical therapy care. We see one client at a time for 1-hour initial evaluations and follow-up sessions.

My Story

Janet McCormick graduated from Hillsdale College with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Psychology. She earned a Masters in Physical Therapy from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has over 34 years of experience as a physical therapist. She has experience in acute care, post-surgical rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, outpatient physical therapy, and chronic pain care from The University of Michigan Hospital. She practiced outpatient physical therapy at Lehman and Kamenec, Physical Therapy of Birmingham, and Detroit Medical Center. After this, she taught and assisted in the accreditation process for Mott Community College’s Physical Therapy Assistant Program as the Academic Coordinator for Clinical Education. She also taught at Macomb Community College and William Tyndale College. In 1998, she began a family with her husband. During this time, she discovered complementary medicine, naturopathy, and the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyles. They began a goat and chicken farm and learned to make kefir, kombucha, herbed feta cheese, and other healthful, nutrient-dense products. Janet decided to pursue a Naturopathic Doctorate for Healthcare Professionals from Clayton College. Trailside Harvest Health was started in 2011 for the purpose of educating and empowering clients in healthy lifestyles along with traditional physical therapy principles to reduce disability and enhance wellness. She also went on to earn her Transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 2020.
